Iceland

Atmosphäre war schon immer mein größter Trigger in der Fotografie. Für mich hat kein Ort eine atemberaubendere Atmosphäre als Island. Seine vielfältigen Landschaften sehen absolut atemberaubend aus und es ist kein Wunder, dass sich dort alles mythisch anfühlt. Meine größte Obsession war es, das Licht, das auf die Landschaft trifft, so einzufangen, wie es wirklich aussieht. Ich versuche, meine Fotos so wenig wie möglich zu manipulieren, um die Natur der Szene nicht zu verändern. In einer Zeit, in der Photoshop allgegenwärtig ist, habe ich das Gefühl, dass es für den Geist beruhigend ist, die Dinge so zu zeigen, wie sie sind. Der Vordergrund meiner Fotos ist oft unscharf, was daher rührt, dass ich viele dieser Fotos während der Fahrt aufgenommen habe. Es gibt so viele erstaunliche Dinge zu sehen, dass es fast unmöglich ist, überall anzuhalten.

Atmosphere has always been my greatest trigger in photography. For me no place has a more breathtaking atmosphere than Iceland. It’s varied landscapes look absolutely stunning and it’s no suprise everything feels mythical there. My greatest obsession was capturing light hitting landscape the way it really looks. I try to manipulate my photos as little as possible, as not to change the nature of the scene. In a time where photoshop is everywhere I feel that showing things the way they are is soothing to the mind. The foreground of my photographs are often blurred which stems from the fact, that many of these photographs have been taken while driving. There are so many amazing things to see that it’s almost impossible to stop everywhere.
