These photographs are the result of a light study. Due to social distancing I hadn’t been able to get people in front of my lens. To stay in practice I got out my very basic home light equipment, which is not at all comparable with the equipment I usually work with and had a go. I tried to create a dramatic light mood and achieve a crisp and somewhat sculptural look. I do quite like the result. It showed me that sometimes having limitations can help you to focus more on specific aspects. Despite the one lamp set-up instead of the the two lamp set-up I usually work with, these shots are not lacking anything at all. I even tried to bundle the light more by partly covering the spot with a dark cloth. And the shots have turned out all the more dramatic because of this little play.
Creds to my husband for standing in as my model.
The shots were taken with a canon EF 85mm 1.4 lens.
